Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
The short version: learn as much as you like, be fair to the Service and other learners, and remember Karo is a friendly study tool, not a promise of a specific result.
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Karo (“Karo”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Karo app, this website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Service.
Who can use Karo
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Karo. If you are under the age of majority, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
Your account
You sign in with Google or email. Keep your login secure and don’t share it. You are responsible for activity under your account, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it. We use a third-party provider to authenticate you and never see or store your password.
Free use and Karo Pro
You can learn for free with a daily lesson limit and a limited number of lives. Karo Pro is an optional paid subscription that removes those limits, hides ads, and unlocks offline lessons.
Subscriptions are billed through your app store (Apple or Google) and renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your app-store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and refunds follow the policy of the store that processed your purchase. Prices and plan features may change, and we’ll give reasonable notice of material changes.
Acceptable use
Please use Karo fairly. Don’t misuse the Service, interfere with how it works, try to access it in unauthorised ways, reverse-engineer or copy it beyond what the law allows, resell access, or use it to break the law or infringe someone’s rights. We may limit or suspend accounts that abuse the Service or put other learners at risk.
Content and intellectual property
The Service, including lessons, text, artwork, the Karo carrot mascot, software and design, is owned by Karo or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own learning. You may not copy, distribute, or make derivative works from our content except as these Terms or the law allow.
If you send feedback or suggestions, you let us use them to improve Karo without any obligation to you.
The Service is educational
Karo is a learning tool, not a guarantee of any particular result. We work hard to keep lessons accurate and helpful, but we don’t promise fluency or a specific level, and Karo is not a substitute for professional instruction where that matters to you.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties we aren’t expressly making here, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to what you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, a nominal amount. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Karo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms or if we’re required to by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know in the app or by email and update the date above. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
