Terms of Use
Updated: 28 August 2026
The short version: learn as much as you like, be fair to the Service and to other learners, and remember that Karo helps you learn a language but does not promise a particular result.
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Karo ("Karo", "we"). They cover the Karo app, the karo-learn.com website and the related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who can use Karo
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law of your country requires it. Minors may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on their behalf.
Your account
You sign in with Google or with your email address. Keep your access safe and do not pass it on to anyone. You are responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you believe someone else has signed in. Your password is checked by a third-party sign-in provider; we never see or store it.
The free plan and Karo Pro
You can learn for free: every course is open, a daily limit on new lessons applies, the number of lives is limited and ads are shown. Karo Pro is an optional paid subscription that lifts the daily limit, removes ads, and gives you unlimited lives and offline mode.
The subscription is paid through the app store and renews automatically for the period you chose until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your store settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow the store's rules unless the law requires otherwise. Prices and what a plan includes may change; we will let you know about important changes in advance.
Lives, XP and achievements
Lives, experience (XP), streaks, achievements and other game elements exist only inside Karo. They have no monetary value, they cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another user, and we may change the rules by which they are awarded.
Ads
Ads from third-party ad networks are shown on the free plan. We are not responsible for the content of other people's ads or for the sites they lead to.
Rules of use
Use Karo fairly. You may not interfere with the Service, gain access to it by unlawful means, decompile or copy it beyond what the law permits, resell access, inflate your results automatically, or use the Service to break the law or other people's rights. We may restrict or block accounts that abuse the Service.
Content and intellectual property
The Service, including its lessons, texts, illustrations, the carrot mascot, source code and design, belongs to Karo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Service for your own learning. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from our content, except where these Terms or the law allow it.
If you send us feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them to make Karo better, with no obligation to you.
The Service is educational
Karo is a tool for learning, not a guarantee of results. We work hard to keep the lessons accurate and useful, but we do not promise any particular level of fluency, and Karo is not a replacement for lessons with a teacher where those are needed.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim any warranties we do not expressly give here, including implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Service will run without interruptions or errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits or for lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or to a nominal amount if you paid us nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Karo at any time and delete your account in the app settings. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should outlive the agreement, such as those on intellectual property and limitation of liability, continue to apply.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will announce important changes in the app or by email and update the date at the top. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
